Our mission is to reduce the misuse and abuse of drugs and alcohol in our community by ​engaging young people in leadership opportunities, empowering young leaders to have a voice, ​and informing all community stakeholders about the realities and risks of substance abuse.

As a small, grassroots non-profit organization, all of our activities are funded by grants. We are proud to be partnering with ​Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, Oregon Health Authority, Lincoln County Board of Commissioners, and Systems of Care of Linn, ​Benton & Lincoln Counties to fund the exciting prevention projects we have launched for youth in Lincoln County.

Healthy Communities Youth Advisory

A small group of youth and young adults representing the geographic areas and ​diverse populations of youth in Lincoln County. This council will learn about working ​with government agencies, how to communicate effectively, and use those skills to ​serve as an advisory committee to various organizations

Youth-Led Media Campaign

Through funding from Oregon Health Authority’s Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment (SAPTr) ​grant, we are excited to facilitate the creation of a youth-led media campaign about the realities of ​substance use among youth in Lincoln County. The goal of this effort is to both dispell common ​misconceptions about youth delinquency, and to relieve the perceived peer pressure among youth- not ​all high schoolers are using.


Safe Medication Storage & Disposal

Many of us have expired medications, medications prescribed following a surgery, or ​prescriptions that have dispensers left over once emptied. Safe storage and disposal is key to ​ensuring these medications don’t harm others.

Safe Use

  • Review your medication list once a year with ​your doctor.
  • Find out if your combination of medicines is ​safe.
  • Closely watch addictive medications such as ​pain killers, and sleep or anxiety medications.
  • Keep track of refills; frequent refills could ​indicate a problem.

  • Secure medications by storing them in a ​lockable drawer, cabinet, or box.
  • Keep track of your medicine:
    • How much have you used?
    • Is any missing?
  • Make sure everyone in your home has ​secured their medications.
  • Store medications in their original containers ​with clear labeling and instructions.

  • How you dispose of medications ​makes a difference.
  • Medications can be dropped in ​disposal kiosks at any pharmacy in ​Lincoln County, your local fire or ​police department may also take ​them.​
